Showcase: Photographer Pino Perrotta

The Molise holds the most beautiful vistas I’ve ever seen.  At times, I wondered if the people who live there, who see these scenes every day, see the same beauty I do as a visitor.  My musings were answered last August, when I had the distinct pleasure to meet Pino Perrotta in Bonefro and view his photographic exhibit, Paesaggi Molisani. Pino brings passion to his photography of Molise’s simplicity and leaves no doubt as to its beauty.  Words cannot express the excitement and gratitude we felt when Pino agreed to let us present his exhibit, Viaggio nella Terra Molisana (Voyage in the Molise Land), as our first showcase.  More about Pino

Pino Perrotta was born in Campobasso, 21 December 1972.  He became impassioned with photography in 1996 after having viewed an exhibit by Tony Vaccaro, “La Mia Italia,” (opens new window) in the Convent Santa Maria delle Grazie in Bonefro (opens Bonefro page).  Since then, his love of photography grew.  He is self-taught, based on the works of Henry Cartier-Bresson:  The technique is important only as it succeeds to communicate what you see.  You must create your personal technique and adapt it until you render your vision in film.  But only the results count, the conclusive test is the photographic print...  Pino's favorite subjects are landscapes in all their forms.  He has participated in numerous exhibits and won awards.  You can leave comments about the exhibit in our guest book .
