CONTACT RELATIVES

The main mission of ECHO Molise is to facilitate connections, and what better way than to help you contact relatives still living in the Molise!

Find Family.  We use volunteer and paid researchers and local contacts to find your relatives--more efficiently than the usual  "shotgun" letters to everyone in town with your last name!  We personally meet with the family, "introduce" you and arrange contact. 

Visit Family.  We can smooth the way for your family reunion and coordinate transportation, translators, photographers, etc. 

Family Books.  We can create customized family books in English and Italian to share with your relatives, at cost.  OR, if you aren't ready to visit but still want to "see" your ancestral town, we can design a special book with information and photographs, including homes, cemeteries, etc.

PLAN A VISIT

Planning a research trip to provincial archives or want to spend time in your ancestral town?  We can help work out the details.

Archive Visits.  Contact us before your first visit to the State Archives in Campobasso.  We can answer your questions, give you directions, update operating hours, tell you which records are available and explain their process. 

Hometown Visits.  Prefer to "go-it-alone" or would you like a local contact and translator?  Either way, we can help with details big and small, from finding directions and hotels to the house where your ancestors lived or the church where they married. 

Intangible Cultural Heritage.  Discovering heritage is much more than seeing the fabulous sites of our ancestors homeland.  It includes intangibles--experiencing the oral, linguistic, craft and living culture of the area.  What is it you imagine?  To learn a craft or to cook, make wine, pick olives as your ancestors did?  Contact us to help turn your dreams into experiences.  Read more or share your experiences with  intangible cultural heritage.
